WPWE Double Speed Cast Iron Worm Reducer — WP Series

The WP series uses fixed-direction housings — WPA for horizontal I/O, WPO for vertical-up output, WPX for vertical-down output. Each application direction requires a different housing. The WPWE changes this with the WPW universal housing body: a single standardised design that accommodates input and output connections from all five standard shaft directions. At the same time, dual worm stages extend the available ratio to 1/200–1/900+. One universal housing, any shaft direction, extreme ratio.

■ WPW Universal Body — 5 Shaft Directions at Extreme Ratio

The WPW-series universal housing body accepts input and output shaft connections from five different directions in a single standardised housing design. The WPWE extends this universal flexibility to dual-stage extreme ratios — 1/200 to 1/900+ in any of the WPW shaft configurations, without ordering a different gearbox family.

The WPW body accommodates horizontal bilateral, top-entry, front-entry, and vertical output shaft configurations in a single housing design — reducing inventory complexity for OEMs with multiple installation orientations.

■ Same 6,050 Nm Torque — Universal Body Does Not Reduce Capacity

The WPW universal housing maintains the same worm gear torque ratings as the standard WPE housing variants. WPWE size 155–250 delivers 6,050 Nm.

■ Dual Independent Oil Chambers — Both Stages

Two independently sealed chambers with separate fill, gauge, and drain. Oil volumes are specified per shaft direction in the WPW lubrication table.

■ Pre-Shipment Testing: Noise, Leak, Torque

Noise below 68 dB(A) at rated load, 30-minute pressurisation of both gear chambers, and output torque within ±5% of rated. Non-conforming units reworked before shipment.

■ FC20+ Material Certification

Both housings carry FC20 mill certificates: 220 MPa minimum tensile strength, 160–200 HB hardness. Ultrasonic testing on size combinations 135–200 and above.
