Worm Reducers & Worm Gearboxes

Three certified series covering every industrial environment — from lightweight aluminium units for automation to heavy-duty cast iron drives for mining, and food-grade stainless steel for hygienic processing.

About Our Range

Precision Worm Gear Reducers for Every Australian Industrial Application

Our worm reducer range is engineered for the specific demands of Australian industrial environments. Three distinct product series — aluminium, cast iron, and stainless steel — cover input powers from 0.06 kW to 22 kW, reduction ratios from 5:1 to 100:1, and output torques up to 8,000 Nm, providing a specification option for virtually every power transmission requirement from compact packaging machinery to heavy-duty mineral processing equipment.

Every unit is manufactured under our ISO 9001:2015 quality system, run-tested at rated torque before dispatch, and shipped with a CE Declaration of Conformity, dimensional drawings, and torque-efficiency tables. CAD files in DXF and STEP format are available at no charge for all standard configurations. If you need guidance selecting the correct frame, ratio, or housing material for your application, our engineering team provides application support as standard — not a premium service.

Aluminium Series Worm Reducer

Lightweight die-cast aluminium housing for compact, thermally efficient worm gear reduction in automation, packaging, and conveyor applications. The most widely specified worm gearbox series for small-to-medium duty cycles where footprint and weight are constraints.

CertificationsCE • ISO 9001 • RoHS
Lightweight Construction
Die-cast aluminium alloy housing reduces installed weight without sacrificing dimensional accuracy. Ideal for suspended or moving installations.
High Thermal Efficiency
Aluminium housing dissipates heat more rapidly than cast iron, extending the thermal duty rating for continuous operation in warm ambient conditions.
Universal Motor Flange
Input flange conforms to IEC standard motor face dimensions (B14 / B5), ensuring direct-fit compatibility with all major motor brands including locally available AU motors.
Self-Locking at High Ratios
Ratios of 30:1 and above provide inherent mechanical self-locking — no external brake required for load-holding applications such as gates, lifts, and positioning systems.

Cast Iron Series Worm Reducer

Heavy-duty grey cast iron housing with oil-bath lubrication for continuous-duty, high-torque industrial applications. The preferred worm gear drive for mining conveyors, agricultural machinery, bulk-handling equipment, and water treatment plant drives where sustained load and shock resistance are critical.

CertificationsCE • ISO 9001 • SGS
Shock Load Resistance
Grey cast iron absorbs vibration and impact loads that would fatigue lighter housing materials. Specified standard in mining and mineral processing applications throughout Western Australia.
Oil-Bath Lubrication
Continuous oil-bath system maintains lubrication film under sustained full-load operation. Suitable for ambient temperatures up to 40 degrees C as standard, with extended ratings available.
High Output Torque
Maximum output torque of 8,000 Nm in the WPA250 frame — sufficient for the heaviest conveyor and agitator drives in the Australian resources and bulk-handling sectors.
Multiple Mounting Orientations
Available in foot-mount, flange-mount, vertical, and inverted configurations to suit conveyor head drives, agitator overhead mounts, and inclined installations.

SS / SSGM Series

Stainless Steel Series Worm Reducer

Full SUS304 / SUS316L stainless steel construction with IP65 / IP67 sealing and NSF H1 food-grade lubricant as standard. Engineered specifically for Australian food processing, dairy, beverage, pharmaceutical, and chemical plant environments where hygiene compliance, CIP washdown resistance, and corrosion immunity are mandatory specification requirements.

Full Stainless Construction
Housing, shaft, fasteners, and external hardware in SUS304 or SUS316L stainless steel throughout — no painted surfaces that can chip or corrode in washdown environments.
NSF H1 Food-Grade Lubricant
Supplied with NSF H1 certified food-grade lubricant as standard. Documentation included. Compliant with FSANZ Food Standards Code and equivalent international hygiene codes.
IP65 / IP67 Washdown Sealing
Sealed to IP65 as standard with IP67 available on request. Withstands direct hose cleaning with chlorine-based sanitisers routinely used in Australian food and dairy facilities.
Full Compliance Documentation
CE Declaration, ISO 9001 quality records, NSF H1 lubricant certification, and material test certificates for SUS304/316L components supplied with every order as standard.

Selection Guide

Which Series Is Right for Your Application?

Use the three criteria below to narrow your selection before browsing individual configurations. If your application spans multiple criteria, our engineering team will help you resolve the trade-offs.

Choose Aluminium If...
  • Input power is below 7.5 kW
  • Weight or footprint is a constraint
  • Duty is intermittent or moderate continuous
  • Application: packaging, automation, small conveyors, gates
  • No aggressive chemical or washdown exposure
  • Budget is primary driver and IP54 is sufficient
Choose Cast Iron If...
  • Power exceeds 7.5 kW or torque exceeds 1,050 Nm
  • Duty is continuous under sustained full load
  • Significant shock, impact, or reversing loads present
  • Application: mining conveyors, agitators, grain augers, hoists
  • Ambient temperature above 35 degrees C
  • IP65 sealing required for dusty environments
Choose Stainless Steel If...
  • Food, dairy, beverage, or pharmaceutical environment
  • CIP washdown or direct hose cleaning is routine
  • FSANZ, GMP, or hygiene audit compliance is required
  • Exposure to chlorine-based sanitisers, acids, or salt
  • NSF H1 lubricant certification is mandatory
  • IP67 ingress protection is specified
