Descripción

WPDX D+X Inverted Drive Cast Iron Worm Reducer — Product Overview

Ceiling-mounted and inverted overhead drive applications demand two things beyond the standard WPX: direct motor mounting without an adaptor plate, and maintenance access without bringing the unit down from the ceiling. The WPDX delivers both. The integrated IEC motor flange eliminates the adaptor. The D-type split housing allows the cover to be removed and the worm wheel inspected while the unit remains ceiling-mounted and the motor stays connected.

Output torques up to 3,025 Nm across 12 standard sizes make the WPDX the reference choice for overhead mining conveyors, industrial process line ceiling drives, and hanging drive systems where maintenance accessibility and direct motor mounting are both required.

WPDX Worm Reducer — Core Features

■ X-Type Downward Output — Purpose-Built Inverted Drive

Vertical downward output shaft is standard — no inverted mounting kit, no right-angle adapter. Mount the housing ceiling-up, output shaft points directly to the driven equipment below.

■ D-Type Split Housing — Ceiling-Position Maintenance

Cover removal in the ceiling-mounted position without lowering the unit. Worm wheel access with motor still connected and unit still on the ceiling structure — critical for reducing planned maintenance downtime.

■ IEC Motor Flange — No Adaptor Plate Required

Integrated IEC 72-1 flange eliminates the motor adaptor from the overhead drive BOM. Four motor bolts, drive complete — no coupling, no alignment, no adaptor fabrication.

■ Output Torque to 3,025 Nm — Same as WPDA

D+X configuration does not affect worm gear capacity. WPDX size 250 delivers 850–3,025 Nm identical to the WPDA.

■ FC20+ Cast Iron — Rigid Under Inverted Load

Cast iron housing maintains dimensional stability in inverted ceiling-mount configurations under the sustained weight of the drive unit and motor — aluminium housings can creep under long-term overhead load.

■ Weight 5–396 kg, 12 Sizes

From compact size 40 (5 kg) to heavy-duty size 250 (396 kg) — the full industrial overhead drive power range in a single WPDX product series.

WPDX Worm Reducer — Industry Applications

WPDX worm reducer mining ceiling mount inverted overhead drive applications

⚊ Mining Overhead Conveyor Drives

WPDX ceiling-mount with IEC motor and downward shaft drives mining conveyor heads directly from above. D-split cover enables in-position inspection during maintenance windows without dismounting from the structure.

⚒ Industrial Process Line Ceiling Drives

Automotive and electronics assembly lines with overhead conveyor systems benefit from WPDX direct-motor ceiling drive — eliminates floor-level obstructions and simplifies plant layout.

☷ Hanging Drive Systems

For monorail, drag chain, and hanging conveyor systems, WPDX ceiling-mount configuration with downward output provides the most mechanically efficient drive arrangement.

⚙ Overhead Crane & Hoist Auxiliary Drives

WPDX auxiliary drives for crane traversal and hoist mechanisms benefit from the inverted IEC motor flange and downward output shaft — compact, direct, and serviceable in position.

Ever Power Manufacturing Quality — WPDX Worm Reducer

Ever Power WPDX worm reducer manufacturing

■ ISO 9001:2000 Certified Production

Every unit is manufactured under ISO 9001:2000 quality management. Raw material inspection, in-process checks, and final assembly testing are fully documented and traceable to each unit’s serial number.

■ CE Marking — EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC

Full CE compliance confirms adherence to European safety and design standards for mechanical power transmission, supporting export to EU, UK, Australian, and New Zealand markets.

■ Pre-Shipment Testing: Noise, Leak, Torque

Every unit passes three tests: noise below 68 dB(A) at rated load, 30-minute pressurisation leak test, and output torque within ±5% of rated. Non-conforming units are reworked — not shipped.

■ FC20+ Material Certification

Housing castings are verified by mill certificates for FC20 grade: minimum 220 MPa tensile strength, 160–200 HB hardness. Ultrasonic defect testing on size 135 and above.

WPDX Worm Reducer — Customer Reviews

★★★★★

“WPDX on our ceiling-mounted overhead conveyor drives. IEC motor bolts on from the side, X-type shaft points down to the conveyor head. D-split cover opens for inspection while unit stays ceiling-mounted.”

Sydney — T.M.
★★★★★

“Used WPDX-120 on inverted drives in our continuous process line. Direct IEC motor flange, downward output, split maintenance access in place — exactly what an overhead drive should be.”

Christchurch — R.B.
★★★★★

“WPDX on our hanging gravity feed drives. D+X combination gave us the most compact overhead drive envelope with full maintenance access from below — no need to lower the unit for inspection.”

Osaka — M.F.
★★★★☆

“Good D+X combination for ceiling applications. Motor mounts direct, downward shaft output, split housing opens in position. Would appreciate a size 165 to fill the gap between 155 and 175.”

Frequently Asked Questions — WPDX Worm Reducer

▶ How does WPDX differ from the WPX?
The WPX uses a solid input shaft and one-piece housing. The WPDX adds D-type split housing (in-situ maintenance access) and integrated IEC motor flange (no adaptor plate), while retaining the X-type vertical downward output. Three functions versus one.
▶ Can the WPDX be serviced in the ceiling-mount inverted position?
Yes — the D-type split housing allows cover removal without inverting the unit. The split line is designed so the top cover (which faces down in inverted installation) can be removed to access the worm wheel while the motor flange joint remains intact.
▶ What is the oil circuit arrangement for WPDX X-type inverted mounting?
In X-type inverted mounting with output shaft down, the oil sump geometry changes. Use the WPDX lubrication table for the correct oil volume — it differs from horizontal WPDA orientation to maintain worm wheel lubrication coverage.
▶ Does the WPDX IEC flange accept the same motor frames as the WPDA?
Yes. The IEC 72-1 flange accepts A02/Y-series motor flanges at the same frame size ranges as the WPDA: sizes 40–80 accept frames 56–130; sizes 100–135 accept frames 130–200; sizes 155–250 accept frames 160–300.
▶ What is the maximum output torque of the WPDX?
The WPDX size 250 delivers 850–3,025 Nm at 1/5–1/60 ratio — the same as the WPDA size 250 since the worm gear internals are identical. D+X configuration affects mounting only, not torque capacity.
