WPX Single Speed Cast Iron Worm Reducer — WP Series

The WPX cast iron worm reducer routes the output shaft vertically downward — the X-type configuration for hanging drives, ceiling-mounted units, and gravity-feed applications. Sizes 40–250 mm, ratio 1/5–1/60, output torque up to 2,371 Nm, weights 5–340 kg.

Description

WPX Vertical Downward Output Cast Iron Worm Reducer — Product Overview

The WPX addresses the mirror-image need to the WPO: applications where the driven shaft must exit downward — ceiling-mounted overhead conveyors, inverted drives, and gravity-feed mechanisms. The X-type output shaft exits vertically downward from the housing, while the motor input enters horizontally from either side via the bilateral worm shaft.

The WPX uses identical FC20+ cast iron housing, worm gear internals, and torque ratings to the WPA and WPO. The X-type designation changes only the output shaft direction — all 12 frame sizes, full 1/5–1/60 ratio range, and 2,371 Nm maximum output torque are retained.

WPX Worm Reducer — Core Features

■ X-Type Downward Output — Ceiling/Inverted Mount Ready

Output shaft exits vertically downward as standard. Mount the unit inverted on an overhead structure with the output pointing down — no right-angle adapter or bevel stage required.

■ Bilateral Horizontal Input — Motor from Either Side

The horizontal bilateral input shaft is retained in the WPX, allowing motor connection from either side of the overhead frame without a mirrored unit.

■ Oil Circuit for X-Type Downward Orientation

Oil volume and circulation geometry are specified for X-type inverted mounting. Fill to the WPX lubrication table mark — ensures adequate worm wheel submersion with output shaft pointing down.

■ Same Torque Capacity as WPA — 2,371 Nm Maximum

X-type designation affects output direction only. All WPX sizes deliver identical torque to their WPA counterparts — worm gear internals are unchanged.

■ 12 Frame Sizes: 40–250 mm

From 5 kg (size 40) to 340 kg (size 250), covering the full range of overhead conveyor and ceiling-mounted drive applications.

■ FC20+ Cast Iron Housing — Suitable for Inverted Mounting

Cast iron housing rigidity supports the weight of the drive unit in inverted ceiling-mount configurations without the housing distortion risk that affects lighter aluminium units under sustained load.

WPX Worm Reducer — Industry Applications

WPX worm reducer mining overhead conveyor ceiling mount applications

⚊ Overhead Mining Conveyors

Ceiling-mounted WPX units drive overhead conveyor head shafts directly with the downward output shaft, eliminating the right-angle attachment that horizontal-output reducers require in this configuration.

⚒ Hanging & Inverted Drive Systems

For overhead monorail, ceiling conveyor, and hanging process line drives, WPX inverted mounting with downward output is the cleanest drive solution — no angular attachment, no additional shaft change-of-direction hardware.

☷ Gravity Feed & Hopper Gates

WPX overhead mounting with downward output drives gravity feed gate mechanisms directly from above — compact, low-maintenance drive configuration for bulk material handling.

⚙ Overhead Process Line Drives

In automotive, electronics, and consumer goods assembly lines where conveyors run overhead, WPX ceiling-mount drives eliminate floor-level obstructions while keeping all drive hardware above the work envelope.

Ever Power Manufacturing Quality — WPX Worm Reducer

Ever Power WPX worm reducer manufacturing

■ ISO 9001:2000 Certified Production

Every unit is manufactured under ISO 9001:2000 quality management. Raw material inspection, in-process checks, and final assembly testing are fully documented and traceable to each unit’s serial number.

■ CE Marking — EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC

Full CE compliance confirms adherence to European safety and design standards for mechanical power transmission, supporting export to EU, UK, Australian, and New Zealand markets.

■ Pre-Shipment Testing: Noise, Leak, Torque

Every unit passes three tests: noise below 68 dB(A) at rated load, 30-minute pressurisation leak test, and output torque within ±5% of rated. Non-conforming units are reworked — not shipped.

■ FC20+ Material Certification

Housing castings are verified by mill certificates for FC20 grade: minimum 220 MPa tensile strength, 160–200 HB hardness. Ultrasonic defect testing on size 135 and above.

Frequently Asked Questions — WPX Worm Reducer

▶ What is the WPX X-type output configuration?
The WPX output shaft exits the housing vertically downward. The unit is typically mounted with the housing above the driven machine, either on a ceiling structure or inverted on an overhead frame, with the output shaft pointing down toward the driven equipment.
▶ How does the oil system work in X-type downward output orientation?
With the output shaft pointing down, the oil level and oil circuit are adjusted per the WPX lubrication table. Fill to the WPX-specific oil level mark — the volume differs from horizontal WPA configurations to maintain adequate worm wheel lubrication.
▶ Is the WPX torque rating the same as the WPA?
Yes. The WPX worm gear internals are identical to the WPA at each size. Output shaft direction does not affect torque capacity — WPX size 250 delivers 1,881–2,371 Nm at 1/5–1/60 ratio.
▶ What mounting method is used for inverted WPX installations?
The WPX uses the same foot-mount base as the WPA, but installed inverted (upside down) on a ceiling frame or overhead structure, with the output shaft pointing downward. The mounting face and bolt pattern are standard WPA foot-mount dimensions.
▶ Can the WPX horizontal input shaft connect from either side in ceiling-mount position?
Yes. The bilateral horizontal input shaft is retained in the WPX. Both motor input ends remain accessible in ceiling/inverted mount configurations.
