The WPEO extends this to 1/900+, combining the O-type vertical upward output with two tandem worm stages in a single FC20+ cast iron housing. Output speeds below 2 rpm from a standard 4-pole motor are achievable without VFD controls — simplifying the drive system and eliminating inverter maintenance.

O-type vertical output direction does not affect the worm gear torque ratings. WPEO size 155–250 delivers the same 6,050 Nm as WPEA at equivalent ratios.

With output shaft vertical upward, the worm wheel submersion depth changes. The WPEO lubrication table specifies the correct oil volume for each size combination in O-type orientation — independent for each stage chamber.
