WPDKS Single Speed Cast Iron Worm Reducer — WP Series

The WPDKS is the most fully specified single-speed worm reducer in the WP series, combining all three auxiliary features in one FC20+ cast iron housing. The D-type split housing enables in-situ worm wheel maintenance. The S-type top-entry IEC flange mounts the motor overhead without an adaptor plate. The K-type hollow bore output accepts the driven shaft directly without a coupling.

For overhead-driven shaft-mount applications — food processing conveyors, pharmaceutical agitators, packaging turntables — the WPDKS eliminates the motor adaptor, the output coupling, and the teardown downtime from a single drive station simultaneously.

■ D-Split Housing — Cover Off, Motor Stays

Split below the IEC flange joint. Remove the housing top cover without touching the motor bolts — full worm wheel access with the overhead motor in place.

■ S-Type IEC Flange — Motor Bolts On Overhead

Top-entry IEC 72-1 flange eliminates the motor adaptor and the lateral motor projection. Motor mounts in four bolts from above — the most compact overhead motor drive in the WP series.

■ K-Type Hollow Bore — No Output Coupling

H7-tolerance through-bore accepts the driven shaft directly. No coupling hardware — shorter installed drive length, no coupling lubrication, no coupling fatigue failure.

■ Three Components Replaced by One

WPDKS replaces motor adaptor + worm reducer + output coupling. Reduces BOM count by two SKUs, installation time by approximately 55%, and total drive length by 80–250 mm across the size range.

■ FC20+ Cast Iron — Suitable for Wash-Down Environments

Cast iron resists cleaning chemical exposure in food and pharmaceutical installations better than aluminium. The WPDKS sealing system maintains ingress protection in wet cleaning cycle environments.

■ Output Torque to 3,025 Nm — Full WP Rating

Triple features do not reduce torque capacity. The WPDKS size 250 delivers the same 850–3,025 Nm as the WPDA and WPDKA at each ratio — the worm gear internals are identical.

Overhead IEC motor keeps electrical connections away from food contact zones. Hollow bore eliminates the coupling exposed to washdown cleaning chemicals. Split housing enables hygienic inspection access without motor removal.

Clean, compact drive configuration with no external coupling hardware minimises contamination risk around vessel openings. Annual inspection via split cover with motor in-place reduces validated maintenance procedure complexity.

In applications with restricted headroom above the drive, WPDKS overhead motor configuration and compact housing achieve the lowest total installed height in the WP product series.

Every unit is manufactured under ISO 9001:2000 quality management. Raw material inspection, in-process checks, and final testing are all documented and traceable to each unit’s serial number.

■ CE Marking — EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC

Full CE compliance confirms adherence to European safety and design standards for mechanical power transmission, supporting export to EU, UK, Australian, and New Zealand markets.

■ Pre-Shipment Testing: Noise, Leak, Torque

Every unit passes three tests before shipping: noise below 68 dB(A) at rated load, 30-minute pressurisation leak test, and torque transmission within ±5% of rated value. Non-conforming units are reworked — not shipped.

■ FC20+ Material Certification

Housing castings are verified by mill certificates for FC20 grade: minimum 220 MPa tensile strength, 160–200 HB hardness. Ultrasonic defect testing is performed on size 135 and above.
