WPEDX Double Speed Cast Iron Worm Reducer — WP Series

The WPEDX double speed worm reducer combines D-split housing, IEC motor flange, vertical downward output, and two worm stages — ratios 1/200–1/900+, output torque to 9,066 Nm. Motorised ceiling/inverted extreme ratio drive with in-situ maintenance access.

Description

WPEDX Double Speed Cast Iron Worm Reducer — Product Overview

Ceiling-mounted slow-speed drive applications require extreme ratio reduction, direct motor mounting, and maintenance access in-position simultaneously. The WPEDX provides all four: the IEC motor flange eliminates the adaptor plate, the X-type output shaft points downward for the driven equipment below, the D-split cover opens in the ceiling-mount position for worm wheel inspection, and the dual worm stages achieve ratios from 1/200 to 1/900+.

WPEDX Double Speed Worm Reducer — Core Features

■ IEC Flange + X Downward + D-Split + Double Stage — Complete Inverted Motorised Drive

The WPEDX delivers four functions simultaneously: direct IEC motor mount (no adaptor), X-type vertical downward output, D-split in-situ maintenance cover access, and two-stage extreme ratio reduction — the complete solution for motorised ceiling-mount ultra-slow drives.

■ D-Split Housing — Ceiling-Position Worm Wheel Access

Remove the housing cover in the inverted ceiling-mount position without disturbing motor or output shaft connections. Both worm stage chambers are accessible in-situ for planned maintenance.

■ Output Torque to 9,066 Nm — D+X Does Not Reduce Capacity

WPEDX worm gear internals are identical to WPEDA. D+X configuration affects mounting and output direction only — torque capacity is unchanged.

■ IEC 72-1 Flange — Direct Motor Mount on Ceiling Structure

Motor bolts on in four bolts in the inverted ceiling-mount position. IEC flange accuracy ensures permanent motor-reducer alignment even in sustained inverted load conditions.

■ Independent Oil Chambers for X-Type Inverted Orientation

Both chambers use X-type adjusted oil volumes from the WPEDX lubrication table. Independent fill, gauge, and drain for each stage.

■ FC20+ Dual-Chamber Cast Iron — Inverted Structural Stability

FC20+ grey cast iron maintains dimensional stability under sustained inverted mounting loads — the housing does not deform or creep under the weight of the unit and motor in ceiling-mount configuration.

WPEDX Worm Reducer — Industry Applications

WPEDX double speed worm reducer applications

⚊ Mining Overhead Conveyor Slow Drives + Maintenance

WPEDX ceiling-mount combines IEC direct motor, X-type downward shaft for the conveyor head, and D-split inspection access in position — the complete overhead mining drive solution that WPEX provides plus in-situ maintenance access.

⚒ Overhead Automated Gate Drives

Ceiling-mounted automated sluice gate and industrial barrier drives requiring direct IEC motor, extreme ratio, downward shaft output, and periodic gear inspection — WPEDX provides all four requirements.

☵ Sub-Floor Mechanism Drives — In-Situ Accessible

Extreme ratio ceiling drives for sub-floor conveyor and indexing mechanisms where planned maintenance access in-position is required in addition to direct motor mounting and downward output shaft.

⚛ Industrial Overhead Hoist Auxiliary Drives

Auxiliary drives for overhead industrial hoists and crane traversal systems requiring extreme ratios and direct IEC motor, ceiling-mount, with periodic gearbox inspection access in position.

Ever Power Manufacturing Quality — WPEDX Worm Reducer

Ever Power double speed worm reducer manufacturing

■ ISO 9001:2000 — Dual-Stage Assembly Certified

Both worm stage assemblies are manufactured and tested under ISO 9001:2000. Inter-stage alignment and ratio accuracy are verified before final assembly of every unit.

■ CE Marking — EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC

Full CE compliance for export to EU, UK, Australian, and New Zealand markets without re-certification.

■ Pre-Shipment Testing: Noise, Leak, Torque

Noise below 68 dB(A) at rated load, 30-minute pressurisation of both gear chambers, and output torque within ±5% of rated. Non-conforming units reworked before shipment.

■ FC20+ Material Certification

Both housings carry FC20 mill certificates: 220 MPa minimum tensile strength, 160–200 HB hardness. Ultrasonic testing on size combinations 135–200 and above.

WPEDX Double Speed Worm Reducer — Customer Reviews

★★★★★

“WPEDX on ceiling-mounted mining conveyor drives. IEC motor direct, downward shaft to conveyor head, D-split cover opens for inspection from below while unit stays on ceiling structure. Eliminated scaffolding requirements for annual maintenance.”

Kalgoorlie — D.T.

Frequently Asked Questions — WPEDX Double Speed Worm Reducer

▶ How does WPEDX differ from WPEX?
The WPEX uses solid bilateral input requiring a coupling and has a solid one-piece housing. The WPEDX adds D-type split housing for in-situ maintenance access and integrated IEC motor flange for direct motor mounting. Same ratio range and torque ratings.
▶ Can the WPEDX D-split cover be removed in ceiling-mount inverted position?
Yes. The split line is designed so cover bolts are accessible from below when the unit is ceiling-mounted. The cover is removed downward while motor and X-type output shaft remain connected.
▶ What is the maximum output torque of WPEDX?
WPEDX size 155–250 delivers up to 9,066 Nm — identical to WPEDA since the worm gear internals are the same. D+X features affect mounting configuration only.
▶ What IEC motor frames does WPEDX accept?
Same as WPEDA: size combos 40–70 to 80–135 accept frames 56–130; size combos 100–155 to 155–250 accept frames 130–300. Verify motor frame dimensions against WPEDX drawing.
▶ How is oil managed in WPEDX inverted ceiling-mount X-type orientation?
Both chambers use X-type orientation adjusted volumes from the WPEDX lubrication table. Fill through the designated port with the unit ceiling-mounted in its operating position.
