WPKS Single Speed Cast Iron Worm Reducer — WP Series

The WPKS cast iron worm reducer combines S-type top-entry input with a K-type hollow bore output — overhead motor, no output coupling. Sizes 40–250 mm, 1/5–1/60 ratios, weights 4–365 kg. The compact drive for vertical motor plus direct shaft-mount applications.

Description

WPKS K+S Cast Iron Worm Reducer — Product Overview

The WPKS solves a specific installation problem: applications where the motor must be positioned overhead (S-type top-entry) and the driven equipment has a keyed shaft requiring direct insertion without a coupling (K-type hollow bore). Neither the WPKA nor the WPS alone covers this combination — the WPKS provides both in a single FC20+ cast iron housing.

Typical applications include overhead-driven screw conveyors, grain augers, and turntable drives where vertical motor positioning conserves horizontal space while the hollow bore eliminates the coupling that would otherwise be exposed to crop debris, process fluids, or outdoor conditions.

WPKS Worm Reducer — Core Features

■ S-Type + K-Type — Unique Shaft Routing

Top-entry solid input shaft and hollow bore output together create a drive configuration unavailable in any other single WP series unit. Motor overhead, driven shaft through the bore — both constraints satisfied.

■ Hollow Bore Diameters 18.8–90 mm

Identical bore dimensions to WPKA at every size — the same driven shaft that fits a WPKA also fits the WPKS. All keyway dimensions follow GB/T 1095.

■ Foot-Mount + Shaft-Mount in One Housing

The WPKS base plate and torque arm boss both exist in the same housing. Use foot-mount for traditional installation or shaft-mount with torque arm for direct shaft installation — no modification required.

■ Overhead Motor Reduces Horizontal Footprint

S-type top-entry positions the motor directly above the reducer, eliminating lateral motor projection. Combined with hollow bore output, WPKS achieves the most compact overhead drive-to-shaft installation in the WP series.

■ FC20+ Cast Iron — Outdoor Agricultural Duty

Grey cast iron resists the corrosion from fertiliser dust, grain chaff, and outdoor moisture that degrades aluminium housings. The WPKS is designed for outdoor agricultural and field conditions.

■ Oil Circuit for S-Type Orientation

The oil volume and internal channel geometry are calibrated for S-type mounting, ensuring the worm gear mesh receives adequate lubrication splash with the input shaft entering from above.

WPKS Worm Reducer — Industry Applications

WPKS worm reducer agricultural overhead drive and shaft mount applications

☷ Grain Auger & Screw Conveyor

Overhead motor above the auger head shaft keeps the motor clear of crop debris and moisture at the loading point. The hollow bore eliminates the coupling that would otherwise be exposed to the outdoor environment.

⚒ Turntable & Indexing Drives

Central shaft passes through the WPKS hollow bore enabling compact rotary drive tables where the vertical motor position minimises total machine height.

⚊ Overhead-Driven Conveyor Systems

In overhead conveyor systems where the drive unit must be above the conveyor belt, WPKS positions the motor directly overhead while the hollow bore eliminates the coupling below the drive unit.

⚙ Agricultural Irrigation Drives

Overhead motor keeps electrical components elevated above field-level soil, moisture, and crop debris while the hollow bore provides direct coupling to the irrigation pump shaft.

Ever Power Manufacturing Quality — WPKS Worm Reducer

Ever Power WPKS worm reducer manufacturing

■ ISO 9001:2000 Certified

Every unit is manufactured under ISO 9001:2000 quality management. Raw material inspection, in-process checks, and final testing are all documented and traceable to each unit’s serial number.

■ CE Marking — EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC

Full CE compliance confirms adherence to European safety and design standards for mechanical power transmission, supporting export to EU, UK, Australian, and New Zealand markets.

■ Pre-Shipment Testing: Noise, Leak, Torque

Every unit passes three tests before shipping: noise below 68 dB(A) at rated load, 30-minute pressurisation leak test, and torque transmission within ±5% of rated value. Non-conforming units are reworked — not shipped.

■ FC20+ Material Certification

Housing castings are verified by mill certificates for FC20 grade: minimum 220 MPa tensile strength, 160–200 HB hardness. Ultrasonic defect testing is performed on size 135 and above.

WPKS Worm Reducer — Customer Reviews

★★★★★

“WPKS on our screw conveyor head drives where the motor must be above the equipment. K-bore on the conveyor shaft and overhead motor — exactly the configuration we needed. Zero coupling hardware.”

Townsville — B.K.
★★★★★

“Used WPKS-100 on our grain auger with overhead motor drive. Hollow bore eliminated the shaft coupling that kept failing due to seasonal crop debris ingress. No failures in two full harvest seasons.”

Ballarat — N.P.
★★★★★

“WPKS on our turntable drive. Vertical motor plus hollow bore output — very compact installation. Motor overhead keeps the work area open below. Excellent.”

Taipei — A.L.
★★★★☆

“Good K+S combination unit. Compact overhead drive with direct shaft connection. Would appreciate the option of a flared bore entrance to ease shaft insertion on size 135 and above.”

Durban — S.O.

Frequently Asked Questions — WPKS Worm Reducer

▶ What is the key difference between WPKS and WPKA?
The WPKA (A-type) accepts the motor shaft from below. The WPKS (S-type) accepts it from above. Both have K-type hollow output bores with identical bore diameters at each size. Choose WPKS when the motor must be positioned overhead and the output must shaft-mount without coupling.
▶ What are the WPKS hollow bore diameters?
Bore diameters are identical to WPKA: size 40=18.8 mm, 50=22.8 mm, 60=28.3 mm, 70=33.3 mm, 80=38.3 mm, 100=43.3 mm, 120=48.8 mm, 135=64.4 mm, 155=74.9 mm, 175=85.4 mm, 200=90.4 mm, 250=90 mm.
▶ How is the WPKS torque arm fitted for shaft-mount applications?
Mount the supplied torque arm to the machined boss on the housing. Connect the free end to a fixed structure on the machine frame using the rubber-isolating anchor bracket to absorb minor misalignment. The torque arm prevents housing rotation under load.
▶ What is the oil fill procedure for WPKS top-entry S-type mounting?
The oil level for S-type orientation is specified in the WPKS lubrication table. Fill to the oil gauge mark with the unit in its operating position. The S-type oil circuit is calibrated to maintain worm gear submersion depth with the input shaft above the housing centreline.
▶ Can the WPKS be used in both foot-mount and shaft-mount configurations?
Yes. The WPKS housing includes the standard foot-mount base for conventional installation plus the torque arm boss for shaft-mount operation. Either method is supported without modification — simply use or omit the torque arm as required by your installation geometry.
