Description
WPS S-Type Cast Iron Worm Reducer — Product Overview
Standard worm reducers accept the motor input from below the housing — the A-type configuration. The WPS reverses this: the S-type input shaft enters from above, enabling the motor to be mounted vertically overhead. This single configuration change reduces the drive train footprint significantly in applications where floor space is constrained but overhead clearance is available.
Internally, the WPS uses identical worm gear geometry, FC20+ cast iron housing, and tin-bronze worm wheel to the WPA, delivering the same 2,371 Nm maximum output torque and 95°C continuous operating temperature. All 12 frame sizes (40–250 mm) are available, covering 0.12–33.20 kW input power.

WPS S-Type Worm Reducer — Core Features
■ S-Type Top-Entry Input — Motor Overhead
The WPS input shaft enters from above the housing centreline, positioning the motor vertically overhead. Reduces lateral drive footprint in confined installations where floor space beside the drive is the limiting constraint.
■ Identical Torque Rating to WPA — Same Internals
The S-type input designation refers only to shaft entry direction. Worm gear geometry, worm wheel material, and torque capacity are identical to the WPA at every frame size.
■ 12 Frame Sizes: 40–250 mm
Covers 0.12–33.20 kW input power and 17–2,371 Nm output torque across the same 12 standard sizes as the WPA, allowing direct substitution in drive train redesigns requiring overhead motor positioning.
■ FC20+ Cast Iron — Outdoor & Industrial Duty
The same FC20+ grey cast iron as the WPA handles outdoor agricultural, pump, and processing environments without corrosion vulnerability of lighter aluminium housings.
■ Oil Level Calibrated for S-Type Orientation
The oil volume for each WPS size is specified for the S-type mounting orientation. The internal oil circuit is tuned to ensure adequate worm gear lubrication splash with the input shaft entering from above.
■ Standard WPA Motor Coupling Compatibility
The WPS input shaft dimensions are identical to WPA — any IEC coupling hub or motor adaptor designed for the WPA fits the WPS without modification.
WPS S-Type Worm Reducer — Industry Applications

☷ Agricultural Equipment — Narrow Frame Machines
WPS motor-overhead configuration reduces machine width on seed drills, row crop cultivators, and spreader drives where lateral clearance between row units is the critical design constraint.
⚙ Pump Station Drives — Compact Layouts
In pump stations where multiple units share a common base frame, WPS overhead motor positioning allows closer centre-to-centre pump spacing than side-mounted motor configurations.
⚒ Conveyor Head Drives — Limited Aisle Width
Where aisle clearance limits lateral motor projection, WPS positions the motor overhead without affecting the drive output or requiring custom frames.
⚊ Processing Equipment — Space-Efficient Builds
Food processing and packaging OEMs use WPS to minimise machine footprint while maintaining standard IEC motor compatibility — no custom motor mounts required.
Ever Power Manufacturing Quality — WPS Worm Reducer

■ ISO 9001:2000 Certified
Every unit is manufactured under ISO 9001:2000 quality management. Raw material inspection, in-process checks, and final testing are all documented and traceable to each unit’s serial number.
■ CE Marking — EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC
Full CE compliance confirms adherence to European safety and design standards for mechanical power transmission, supporting export to EU, UK, Australian, and New Zealand markets.
■ Pre-Shipment Testing: Noise, Leak, Torque
Every unit passes three tests before shipping: noise below 68 dB(A) at rated load, 30-minute pressurisation leak test, and torque transmission within ±5% of rated value. Non-conforming units are reworked — not shipped.
■ FC20+ Material Certification
Housing castings are verified by mill certificates for FC20 grade: minimum 220 MPa tensile strength, 160–200 HB hardness. Ultrasonic defect testing is performed on size 135 and above.
WPS S-Type Worm Reducer — Customer Reviews
“WPS-100 on our seed drill drives. Vertical motor mount freed up 300 mm of lateral machine width — allowed us to reduce the frame width and improve the machine’s row spacing geometry.”
“Used WPS-80 on our bottling line where overhead clearance was better than floor space. Top-entry shaft worked perfectly with our standard IEC motor. No modifications needed.”
“WPS-135 drives our compost turner. Overhead motor keeps the gearbox output accessible for oil changes without moving the motor. Simple and effective design.”
“Good performance in our irrigation pump drive configuration. S-type orientation allowed us to reduce the pump station width significantly. Solid cast iron construction has held up well to outdoor conditions.”
