The K-type output bore receives the driven shaft directly even at maximum output torques up to 9,066 Nm (size 155–250). No coupling hardware required at the output shaft interface.

Remove the housing cover without disturbing motor or driven shaft connections. Both worm stage chambers are accessible for worm wheel inspection and replacement in-situ — minimising planned maintenance time for installed motorised drive systems.

▶ What makes WPEDKA different from all other WPE variants?
WPEDKA is the only WPE variant with all four features simultaneously: D-split housing, IEC motor flange, K hollow bore output, and dual-stage reduction. WPEA has solid input/output. WPEDA adds IEC flange. WPEKA adds hollow bore. WPEDKA adds all three simultaneously.
▶ What is the maximum output torque available in the WPEDKA?
WPEDKA size combination 155–250 delivers up to 9,066 Nm — the same as WPEDA since the worm gear internals are identical. IEC input and K hollow bore do not reduce the torque rating of the dual-stage worm gear system.
▶ How are the two independent oil chambers maintained in the WPEDKA?
Each stage chamber has its own oil fill port, oil level gauge, and drain plug. Fill each chamber independently using the WPEDKA lubrication table — chamber volumes differ. Monitor each chamber’s oil condition separately. First oil change at 100 hours, then every 2,500 hours per chamber.
▶ Can WPEDKA be used in shaft-mount configuration?
Yes. The WPEDKA housing includes a torque arm boss for shaft-mount operation. Insert the driven shaft into the K hollow bore, key it, mount the torque arm bracket, and connect the IEC motor to the top flange input. The unit is shaft-mounted and motor-direct with no coupling hardware at either end.
▶ Does the D-split cover removal expose both worm stage chambers simultaneously?
The D-split cover provides access to the inter-stage area and permits inspection of both worm wheel pairs. Individual stage oil chambers remain sealed by their own internal seals — oil does not spill when the cover is removed for inspection.
